While I attended a Netherlands school, I had a few people explain to me what the colors of their flag meant. Some people seem very proud of their flag. The red stripe was originally orange, along with the red and blue stripes, are based on the coat of arms of Prince Williams of Orange, who led the flight for Dutch Independance. The flag was nicknames "The Prince's Flag" for Prince Williams. The design was inspired by the Russian flag and adopted on February 19, 1937. Its amazing to find what you can learn by talking to some people.
I know a couple from the Netherlands. They always were nice and gave me cany. but they moved away =)
