For a catholic wedding to occur in Spain, the couple must contact their local diocese and discuss their plans. The local diocese will then organize the paperwork through the Heads of the Catholic Churches in the couple's country of residence and Spain. Weddings in Spain can help by providing the name of the priest and location in Spain where the couple wishes to marry, but the rest has to be organized by the couple with their church. This process can take up to a year. The ceremony itself may be carried out in Spanish or English, depending on the priest and the church.
