Today I am going to tell you about my favorite sport.My favorite sport to play is Cricket.Cricket is the national sport here in the UK.People from other countries usually assume that soccer is our national sport,but it's not.Cricket is a very fun sport,and the rules are very simple.First you get into teams of eleven people,you have a ball that is a little smaller than a baseball and a bat that is shaped like a paddle.Two of the batters are set in front of wickets,each wicket consists of three stumps that are pushed into the ground.There are two bails balanced on top of the wickets.One of the members of the opposite team,which is known as the bowler throws the ball towards one of the batters.Then the batter hits the ball and must not knock of the bails.If the ball goes far enough then the two batters run back and forth between the wickets while the fielders on the opposite team try and get the ball.Cricket is scored by the number of runs or the number of times the batters change places.This is by far my favorite sport!
