On April 30th, the people in the Netherlands celebrate Queen's Day. It is a day to commemorate the birthday of the country's former queen. It is the most widely celebrated event in the Netherlands. Each year, the Netherlands welcome up to two million party-goers to celebrate this event.
I do not recomment riding a bike during this celebration. With hundreds and thousands of visitors coming to Amsterdam, it is nearly impossible to ride your bike.
Some of the Dutch wear orange for Queen's day to represent the Dutch Royal Family. If orange is not your favorite color, you might want to get use to seeing it.
