President of iReland

Dear sir or madam,

Our first woman president was elected in 1997. Mary McAleese. This woman had sympathies for femmenists and socialists. This was considered as watershed to many people. New ways were passed for mainly northern Ireland. One being that you could divorce under certien conditions. Hitherto this was forbidden by the constitution but was narrowly passed in Nov. 1995.
