Basketball is one of the most popular sports in Spain. The Spain National Basketball Team is the team that represents Spain in all international competition. As of September 2009 they are European champions. In 1984 they reached the finals of the olympics but lost to the USA. This was their first real international sucess. In 2006 they won the FIBA World Championship. In 2oo8 they recieved the silver medal. Their current starting five palyers are: Pau Gasol- Center, Jorge Garbabajosa- Power Forward, Rudy Fernandez- Small Forward, Juan Carlos Navarro- Shooting Guard, Ricky Rubio- Point Guard.
That's cool! I didn't know that they made to the Olympics, but lost. Somebody had told me they had won.
