When the Chateau was built Versailles was only a small country village, but now it is a suburb of Paris, just 20km southwest of the capital. The court of Versailles was the center of Political Power in France. Versailles is a symbol of the history of Absolute Monarchy in France. During the many years Versailles grew by the project the Louis family made to the palace before the French Revolution.
